White...

unknown from pinterest.com
You know, if you have read this blog before, that I am all about white Ironstone, actually, white in general really!!
So, this short and sweet post (still having issues with Blogger) is dedicated to my love of the chalky, milky shade =0)
I have a little white project going on at the moment. If the weather snaps out of this cold, cold spell we are having, I will be able to share...but not until ;0)

I actually found this image on Pinterest. It had that it came from weheartit.com, but I believe it is Sarah's from A Beach Cottage...pretty sure of that actually. Either way, loving that neutral lace tablecloth from the door frame and the pick up in the stripes against all that lovely white <3

How I could dine here! Really, I could ;0)
Just perfect. Wing backs, worn wood, HUGE Drum shades x2 and the buttoned black- oh and an Antler for good measure!

Well, my pretties. I needed that little hit of white, neutral gorgeous-ness (no pun!) and hope you did too.

Cold Inspire...

It is cold here...cold, and very windy.
The fire is blazing and I am
cocooning.
These images are helping =0)
Hope you are warm where ever you are.

Cocooning Goal

Well, Hello there!
Lovely, cold, bitter day here in Tassie. Sun shining, but cold.
I like this sort of weather, makes you want to cocoon, pull out the throws, add more cushions (not like we don't have tonnes already!) and lots of candles etc.
One thing I have yet to do is bring our living room rug back out. I have been thinking maybe I will leave it, but after seeing this image, I am going to get it back out.
You get used to having bare floors over Summer and forget how warming it is to a space to have that rug, an anchor, in a room.

As you know, I am adding some new blinds soon to our Kitchen....then I stumble across this!
I am more, and more convinced that I need shelves and a island like this.
Our ceiling and floors are basically the same- meant to be!
Our center island has seen better days, lets be honest and my dear Dad has done his best to fix it up for us and make it work, but at the end of the day as he says "It has been poorly built and it needs re doing". Well Daddy, wanna build me one like this????

So, that's the goal for the week
-to warm and cozy up our kitchen and living room.
What are you doing for the change in seasons??

Smiling....

All of these images made me smile today.
I hope they make you smile too and give you some inspiration =0)

Pinning Hopes...

Life has sort of returned to normal here...sort of.
I have been so busy and have really not been able to do any of my own decorating
or renovating which has left me wanting to do a overhaul of our living room.
We need lots of new cushions, new sofa covers,
some new blinds and heavier drapes for our impending Winter.
I have been pinning lots of ideas to get me started once life is fully back to normal.
What do you think of these lovelies for inspiration?

...and thank you all for your lovely words on my new-ish range =0)

Mood board...

Hi petals!
How are you? I am well, been busy. You know how it is, right?
We had a room move around here at our house over the weekend, I nearly broke my jaw, our bed broke and there is tonnes of bags for charity clogging my hallway.
I am planning on doing some painting once I have some major art works out of the way with to freshen our 'new' rooms and cant get white (of course), greys and wood off my mood board.

The amazing Tricia Foley is such an inspiration to me and I will be looking to her while I sort out the details.
This space in her office/shed is perfect.
Bead board walls, natural linens and mismatched pieces all based around a pale palette are divine.

Un varnished wicker, white and muddy greys all have me captivated right now.
The fresh touch of green is stunning.

Even though this image is in black and white, you can see the palette is just what I am after.
I do think this is missing some green though.
My mood board is getting packed with ideas.
Oh, and speaking of mood boards I am now part of addicted to
Pinterest. This is an amazing site where I can 'Pin' any ideas that come my way in inspiration like boards.
So much easier than cutting and sticking on my wall =0)
If you want to have a squizz at my mood board,
stop by

PS- You will notice that the annoying 'technical difficulties' message is G O N E. I was over it and unfortunately cant fix the one at the bottom of the post, so we have to put up with that til I work out what to do.

Olive Grove In Manhattan NY

For those of you who have followed me for a while will know how much I love the styling and decorating of Olive Grove Retreat.
This divine slice of Provence was right here in Australia, Heathcote Victoria to be exact. Just over an hour from Melbourne and a heartbeat from France.
Sadly, OGR is no more. Its doors where stylishly closed to the public back in 2009, but it is still owned by Hairstylist Lazarus (Wesley) Douvos.

There are so many elements from this retreat that I fell for immediately.
The chalky hues, loads of white

The bagged walls, French fittings (a claw foot bath just like mine)

Serious charm

and the magic of thinking you are worlds away with the soft scent of Lavender wafting by on a warm evening, when you are actually not far from one of the busiest cities in Australia!

The interior  is just perfect...truly.
So, the other night while going through tonnes of emails I found one from the owner of this gorgeous slice of the earth, Lazarus!
Telling a little about the closure of the retreat and the move to NY. The two places couldn't be any further away!!
I also got a sneak peak in to Lazarus' equally stunning Manhattan apartment.
here it is....

The first thing that sprung to mind here was 'Tricia Foley'...immediately!
It is stunning...and you know I LOVE Tricia =0)

There are so many hints of Olive Grove Retreat as well...with a New York edge.

Lazarus, I am glad you are still lovin the tufting!!!

...and that panelling is divine...

ahh...it's Olive Grove all over =0)
This image, although a little blurry is a constant on my mood/inspiration board and fills me with ideas every time. I thank you for that Lazarus, and for letting me peak into your new Retreat on the other side of the world.
I hope you get back to Olive Grove soon.

Palette Bar...

Such a small picture, but such a gorgeous picture.
The palette and vintage pieces are stunning.

....lost...

Spring seems to have lost its way here this year and I yearn for some sun filled days and the feeling that Summer is weeks away.
I guess in a way it is a good thing too that the season is late
...I am stuck indoors making items non stop for The Shop.
By this time I had planned on preparing our outdoor area for the BBQ's ahead but alas, no time.
So today I am happy to look at these images and pretend that our spaces are prepared for my Parents arrival shortly, and there are no weeds in the garden, and that there is not much to do but make gingerbread men...real edible ones, not clay!...and eat fruit mince pies and dance around to Bing Crosby while decking our halls etc.
Not going to happen right now.
This reminds me that the floors need mopping and the windows need cleaning and I still have to finish painting our dining chairs. They have been waiting for about a year now it seems!

...and my office? Well that's another conundrum all together =0/
Never mind, the rush will be done with soon and all these things will be waiting - still!
Hope you are having a lovely day

Weekend Whine...and Giveaway tease!

Ahhh....
Gotta love a long weekend right?
Normally I would say yes, but this weekend I have nee buried in fabrics and clay pumping out Christmas orders and orders for the shop.
We did however manage to fit in a family meal for 9 of us here at home and a BBQ today so all wasn't lost to work.
These images have been in 'the file' for ages and have me wanting to get outside and pretty up our entertaining areas, but it will have to wait a little longer.
So I will have to be satisfied with looking for now!

On another note, yesterday was Halloween as you are all aware. Not a big issue in our home and we don't do anything to celebrate this.

There was something HUGE on Halloween that happens EVERY year that we do celebrate though and this year was even bigger......my Dear Dads 70th Birthday!!!!

My Dad means the world to me and I was sad to not have been with him and my family on the mainland celebrating this and had to be happy with a phone call with him. It was so lovely to hear the rest of the family gathered in the background all enjoying my Dad's special day.

My Dad is such a wonderful Man and if our boys could grow to be half the man he is I would be so proud and happy...love you dearly Dad and cant wait to see you soon!
So, even though I was very busy with the Shop. I did have a lovely weekend.

Phew! Now I need a sit down I think to do something just for me =0) ...and something for all of you.....GIVEAWAY IS COMING!!!!
Isn't this room the perfect colour palette? I adore the sofa.
See you soon to announce the giveaway =0)
