Winner, Award, Autumn & Sneak Peak....

Today is officially the last day of Summer here in the Land Down Under.
I am not one to say 'oh' or anything like that. The thought of getting into longer sleeves, light scarves and getting the throw rugs out puts a spring in my step.
I am looking forward to re-lighting our big ol kitchen fire (see above) also.
So I have been thinking of other ways to introduce warmth into our home and found these beauties...
An amazing knitted lampshade.
Although I don't think having it turned on would not make my hover about it waiting for a small fire to start...loving the bottle though.

I know this doesn't go with warming up the home, but I just love it so much
and maybe it could hold some magazines by the sofa.

via anthropology
And who wouldn't want to curl up under a throw like this? Perfect colour too.

With the thought of cooler weather I have finally had the chance to get cracking on new cushion designs and came up with this...

marley & lockyer
Vintage Botanical images on linen.
In this new range is Vintage Bird prints too...I am in love with these.
But lets get on to the giveaway winner. Dah, da da dah
Sissie from Sissies Shabby Cottage =0)
I still cant get the random.org generator thing to paste onto my blog so if you know, please inform me...I'm hopeless!!
Oh, and I was given the Stylish Blogger Award again by the ever so gorgeous and uber talented Kelly McGuill from O so D.
How sweet of you Kelly. I wont bore you again though with 7 things about me as I only done it a few posts back. thank you Kelly and thank you to each of you who entered the giveaway, blogged about it, posted on your sidebars, joined FB and this Blog...you are all so wonderful =0)
I will be having another giveaway soon.

Busy designing & GIVEAWAY REMINDER. 1 day to go!

For a lot of you in the North Spring is on it's way, which means that Autumn is about to start here in Australia. This is always a good time for me creatively as the cooler weather keeps me inside and for some reason, inspired.
lately I have needed to be as very soon I will be taking my little business, Marley&Lockyer to...
The Niche Designer Markets are going to be held on April 1st & 2nd this year with 2 more markets to come in August and November (I will be at the November one also). If you are in Tasmania, I would love for you to stop by the M&L stand and say hi and introduce yourselves.
It will be at the Inveresk Tram Sheds and will feature some of Tasmania and the Mainlands finest Artisans and Designers. Click on the link to find out more.
Today I spent the day playing with new clay designs. In particular, clay earrings.
Here they are waiting to have their backs put on and onto their little display cards.

I tried some of the plain white clay ball earrings out and took this pic with my web cam, so it is not the best quality.
Keep in mind it is my creative day today, so I have no makeup on and my hair is not done.
I did try to get a close up of the Bird earrings as well.
Loving these little pretties with the bird heads, and surprisingly
they are not heavy at all.
Don't like heavy earrings.
Web cam shot again, poor quality, but I had to show =0)

Lots of new tags have come out of today's venture indoors,
including some tags I had made back in July which I had never photographed.
If you are a Marley&Lockyer Facebook follower you will be able to see the rest.

My poor office is a mess, but my picture wall is coming along and I have more to add yet,
but haven't quite had the time for the moment.
I do love the vintage french prints which were a gift hanging on the left there
and my little canvases to the right.
If you are wondering what the little person is at the bottom it was a gift from our little Mason
on his first day of school...it's supposed to be me!
That's what I have been up to of late. I hope you have entered the GIVEAWAY
(see last post) as it is drawn tomorrow.

Weekend makings and a winner!

Hiya!
This weekend has been one of those ones where everything gets done.
The type that you are satisfied with.
I cleaned, cooked, washed the car, attempted to sort my office, Mic mowed the lawn and we had a nice time with the boys.
I even whipped up this new cushion.
Not having done anything in white and back for some time now I thought I would try it out
...and I do like this.

The great thing is that it goes with every cushion in my range.
So this will become a staple at Marley & Lockyer.
What do you think?

As I mentioned before, I attempted to sort my office.
Didn't get very far - sidetracked really.
I found some unused canvases which I had painted Tractors and the like for the boys rooms
when they were born.
They needed to be used.
I turned them into little collages for my office wall.
Just out of things I had around the room.
A penny farthing from one of my Necklaces and some vintage buttons.
A piece of fabric tape measure, one of my stoneware Birds and some vintage lace.
Some old book pages, more vintage buttons and then some doodles with a black pen.
Oh and some warm white paint to cover the Tractors and sailboats!!

Voila!
A new addition to my office picture wall, which is coming along nicely.
There is another one which is being finished and I think they will look great together on the wall.
As you can see I enjoyed my weekend.
I hope you did too.

I do have to let you know who won the Ramsign Enamel Sign Giveaway before I head off.
Random picked #40 which belongs to

If you would like to have a look at this stunning blog you wont be disappointed.

LAST CHANCE FOR GIVEAWAY...and my new friend

Tomorrow the wonderful Ramsign Enamel sign giveaway will be drawn.
Make sure you enter by commenting on the post before this one (just scroll down).
While I was working away in my office, making more mess, on some new tags for the Shop
see above image of one
I could hear a noise of a little bird chirping and it sounded really close.
Got up and looked out the window to see this little guy
How cute is he/she?
I put my hand up to the window and it was so calm and just looked at me.
I even had time to get my camera and take a photo.
He sat there for about 5 minutes just looking at me and didn't seem phased at all
by the big human peering at him.
He eventually flew into the big tree right outside my windows to be with his family (he is only a young one)...after leaving me a deposit!!!
Still, he is SO cute.
I just thought it was such a privilege to have been able to be so close to something so wild and free and it not be scared at all....beautiful!

Handmade Living Gift...

not gloating at all but,
I WON this amazing book over at My Uncommon Slice Of Suburbia!!!!
Miss Kristin has drawn my name as the winner and I couldn't be more pleased.
As I am not very lucky when it comes to giveaways, I never expect to win and usually just leave a comment in the giveaway posts as a supportive sort of thing...but I won.
For those of you that don't know of this book it is a must have/get. Tania McCartney is a fellow Aussie and creative that has a loyal following of crafty people who find lots of inspiration from this amazing Woman. Not only is this book full of gorgeous images, but it has loads of amazing things to make and I can not wait to get it. I have recently joined as a follower of Tania's blog and have been enjoying reading it of late.
To find out more about this book head over to Kristin's blog to see more.
Thanks Kristin...what a Christmas gift =0)

oh by the way, what do you think of the new logo at the top? It is the new shop logo. I wanted it to have a simple look and seeing I love old typewriter fonts so much, thought this would be fitting.

My wish for Christmas dinner this year is to have some of these wings on the backs of our chairs. I spotted some just like these in our local Myer and went to see how much they were and guess what?...display only. Hhmmm! SO now I am trying to think of how to make my own version look as good as these ones....or I will head to the costume store to see if I can find some if I run out of time.
On another note...
If you would like the chance to win some of my clay tags, head on over to Le's blog where she is giving away some of my Christmas tags
All of the details are there and you will enjoy the lovely Le's takings on all things Interior.
