Feathers....

Finally I have added some items that I have been meaning to get to to Etsy.
A Little Owl Brooch, a white feather brooch and my white bird pendant as well as some more covers.
Busy, busy, busy!
Hope you have been busy too.

New...ish

Hey There!
Thank you to everyone who sent me Birthday wishes and emails, it was very lovely of you.
We have been so busy here while the boys were off on School holidays and I even managed to photograph the new offering from
The one above is actually 2 tags that hang freely so you can use them together or separately.

A star one I have been thinking about expanding on for the Holidays this year.
...but an all rounder I think.

This one I like. The little heart is off center and the word runs up the side- cute

and after many emails from those of you who attended the Designer Markets where I sold out of these lovelies....the bird pendant will be added tomorrow to the Etsy store =0)

I thought I would show you this amazing bird we seen on our recent trip to the Zoo.
It had the most amazing colours and I have never seen anything like it.

anyway. I would love to know what you think about the new tags if you don't mind?
and a Happy Birthday wish to Mic my Husband for today
...better get back to the cake!

Indulgent B'day...

A slightly selfish post today...
It's my Birthday!
I have been getting presents for days and have more to come.
Spent the day with my gorgeous Family
and my darling Husband is making us all dinner with a
sublime cake for afters.

It's a good day =0)

Washing Whites

While the Autumn sunshine was pouring in our living room, I photographed some of the new collection for Marley & Lockyer.
It is based around vintage linens, vintage cottons and old fashioned printing techniques.
I love this as it gives each cover a unique look and something real about it, not mass produced at all
just like the good old days.

Even the hand mixed inks aren't perfect =0)

I do love this shot.
As the sunshine started to dim, everything still looked lovely.
Even our white linens and towels.
It is pouring rain right now at 9:22pm and we are toasty by the fire after a glorious day in the sun.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

It Started Here...

Wow....I am exhausted
and happy!
The Niche Design Market was a success. The whole process has been a wonderful learning experience for the next one I will attend in November.
After all of the hard work making it all, the fun begun
....on our dining room table.

This where I set up the stall the day before to make sure it all laid out well and I hadn't forgot anything (see, there I am taking the photo in the mirror). I took the photo and that way had a reference as to where it all went to save time- and it did. It only took about 35 mins.

Here it is set up on day 2 of the market.
My wonderful friend, Joelee came with me and helped for both days and was a great help.
We ate loads of cupcakes from the Cupcake Fairy who was across from us and drank loads of Lattes!

I had such a good time playing with the display and loved how my little bird house came up.

All of the packaging for Marley & Lockyer is made from hand made, hand cut paper by Joelee and it looked amazing against the white clay and my white/linen covers.
If you would like to contact Joelee about handmade, recycled packaging or papers you can contact me and I will pass you on =0)

The whole display was based around this new collection which is full of vintage linens and my own screen print designs. So there were alot of old papers to wrap boxes for displays.
One was even from the old phone book!
...recycle, recycle

Loads of great comments from it all and lots of sales and wholesale enquiries which was lovely too.
Ooo! There's Joelee in the background!

The covers went well and I didn't have that many to come home with me either =0)

This is Lauren from Leaves & Stems and her arrangements are amazing!
I bought a gorgeous Hydrangea based one from here and was surprised when she gave me 2 bunches of flowers at the end of the stall.
Thanks Lauren, love your work!

Just across from me was Sophie and her beautiful jewelry label, That Vintage.
Sophie gave me one of her lovely lace wrapped wooden bangles.
Thanks Soph!

This amazing piece of paper art was by the beautiful label Hideyo who make gorgeous origami pieces.
This one is more of a statement piece and is under a hand blown French cloche
...stunning!

Pili Pala had so many pieces that I wanted, but settled for a cute pendant with an old Penny farthing bike.
The letterbox brooch here nearly came with me too!

Behind me was What Katie Did Next with her amazing jewelry. Those black and white rings are even better in real life. The depth of each piece is gorgeous!!

Loving the argyle sock monkey from Haylo.

I didn't get alot of time to look at other stalls as my own stall was busy alot.
I will be adding some of the new items to the Etsy Store as soon as I have had a few days off for a rest.

As you can see I had a ball, as did the other stall holders and was very privileged to have been in amongst so many creative souls and supporting St Giles which is a wonderful cause helping disabled children and their families.
Thanks you to everyone who stopped by, said hi and supported M&L and this event
...and to all of you who support from all over the world!

Market Makeover...

After
Before
Well kind of.
When I bought this little beauty some time ago, she was a Maroon shade with a white marble effect...I know! But for $3 how could I not bring her home and give her a makeover?
The first part straight after I bought her was a undercoat in a washed grey to cover the Maroon
...and that's how she stayed...
until yesterday.

There were redeeming features I knew I could work with.
An old travel label.

from the southern part of Tasmania, which has oodles of charm.
and papered inside. Great for paint.
I gave her a few coats of a chalky white paint...everywhere!
Already she is looking amazing.
and as I am using this as display for my covers for the up coming Niche-All Wrapped Up Markets, I wanted it to not overwhelm my products and designs.
So a covering of brown paper was put over the dirty green original paper.
which I then stencilled with a little leaf design I came up with.

I didn't do the bottom of the case of the other sides because once it is filled with my cushions you wont see them. Remember it is a display piece.
I actually like the fact that one of the latches is missing.

and with one of my White Clay Tags hanging from it I think she looks much better now.
I will be using one of my Luggage White Clay Tags on the Market day though.

What a sweet lady she is now.

I feel much better now to be pulling together the ideas I have for my stall and will be starting work on another piece very soon...stay tuned.
So, what do you think?

Weekend List...

The days are getting longer here.
This afternoon while I was getting the washing in I noticed the shadow from our big Kitchen fireplace was hovering over the line.
That means...the cold is nearly here.
Which got me thinking about what to do this weekend.
*Place more candles about the house.

*Bake more cookies and slices for the week ahead.
*More cushions with grey tones will be coming out.
(I can never have enough!)
*All of our cable knit throws will be out too.
*Lets not forget another round of tags will be getting cured.

*and 77 more of these babies will be getting made.

*and a sleep in before any of this happens ;0)
Lets hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
