Wonderful White Wonders

Elle Decor
Living in a hot Christmas climate always makes me think of the winter white palette that the north of the world gets to play with at this time of year, and this picture above is a gorgeous reminder of how wonderfully whites and creams work with the festive touches that only this time of year can provide. But, even away from the season you all know that I am totally devoted to the warms white and cream family and these next images, although not Christmas related, show who wonderful they really are at any time of year.
Home Beautiful
White linen covers on sofa's and chairs is always a winner in my book, and a staple to any decorating scheme, along with blue and white china it is an enviable duo. Not to ever forget the tactile and textural wicker - always a friend of these two!

Sarah Richardson
Creamy white kitchen units paired with nickle is another winner, as teamed up here by one of my favourite designers, Sarah Richardson.

Country Living
Now, lets not forget the vintage and antique elements to really set off a white scheme. I have always loved blue mixed in with white and these ticking cushions are a wonderful pairing to all of the vintage artwork on the wall...and the bus roll!

Eric Roth Photography
..but, this is photo is a wonderful example of all of those details I love - Worn wood, wicker, sisal, white cupboards, linen, slipcovers, greenery, vintage lighting, antique/vintage pieces and all within a wonderfully white canvas. All that's needed now is some artwork or prints on the walls.
Is there anyone out there that is as smitten with these things as I am?? or am I just crackers, I am sure there are more of you.

Santa Wishes

Mic asked me recently for the annual 'Christmas Wish List', I thought of a few things, but this year there isn't anything I am desperately hoping for...but I would like to add the following to that list...
Poulier & Poulier
One of these great tea towels (either Mosman or Bondi) from Poulier & Poulier. They will make a great wall hanging seeing I can't find a bus roll I am in love with yet...and they are only AU$29.95!
The Love Shop
Failing that, one of these gorgeous prints for The Love Shop would do.

Whiteport
Ooooh! Something like this lovely, but Mic will be saying "You can make that!"...I have heard this chant from everyone I know since I was small!!

I just love these marble pears from The Vintage Rose, the small ones are more me, I think 3 would be great as you know how much I like 3's.
...or a big 'N' for Ness...actually anything from The Vintage Rose would be perfect, thanks!
Other than that I am out of ideas.

Flags and my office...

From my files - mag no longer in print
What is it about flags that have me hooked? Not sure, but I do know that I would love and old, faded, slightly tattered one to fill my office wall. This US one is fantastic propped against the wall and I have long loved this photo because of this flag in the frame.
This is my office at present and this wall is where I envision the tattered fabric. Being that I am of Scottish heritage (all my family were born there) and Australian (I was the only one born here), I think it would be fitting to have the St Andrews cross and an Aussie flag together...

unknown...sorry!
...or a Union jack which is an amazing design against white walls.
Now, I am not about to start a new redecorating project in my office..although tempting...because I have so much on at the moment, but I have been sitting here thinking 'I really want to change something...anything around!'. The fact I am in here makes sense.

Restoration Hardware
So some other things I would love in here would be some of these little destination signs, which I think I will have a go at myself...
Decorpad
...loads of shelves and white painted floors like we have in our bedroom. The current carpet in here is old and three different brown tones...eew!

Sarah Richardson
And to finish -linen and white covered books to fill the shelves. To think this all started with a photo of a flag!!.....

Super Woman...

Well that's how I felt this weekend! Even while nursing the flu and and drowning in a monsoonal down pour, I managed to sew like a woman possessed...or a Super Woman. I have managed to catch up on all of my orders and even make new covers and re fill the store. This one above the Tweet cover is a new one and I am planing to have different colourways in this.
I do love this and my Parents are SO happy to see me finally using some of my art work to put on my covers. This is the Screamer cover and features original art work by moi! I done this while in my senior year at High School and it has been in my folder ever since. There will be some more of my art work to come...stay tuned!

The St Tropez cover will be a limited run, but I think it is so great for the warmer months here in Australia or to remind everyone way above the equator of the lovey Summer you just had.
Oh...GUESS WHAT????

My wonderfully connected Uncle Neil has managed to find me this black Bakelite phone for HERE. Click here to see what I am on about!
I don't know how this Man does it, but he is the ultimate Antiques, bargain shopper. If I had my shop up on the Mainland, I would employ him as one of my buyers...along with my Mum!!
OH, AND....

etsy.com
...look what I found yesterday! Remember I have been after a piece of art work for here, well I seen this last night and Mic said "Just buy it"...now normally you would go (supposed to be me) "OK, buying it now", but I looked at the size and it is really long. The dilemma being - where shall I hang it if I get it...but it says 'Ness' in it, how can I let it go? It is too tall to go where I had planned....WHY!!? Why is it when it all seemed to be coming together so perfectly this weekend, that this major find has to throw a spanner in the works? Maybe it's not meant to be.
Any way, I would love to hear what you think of the new covers and I will shut up now!

Bus & Tram Scrolls...

Country Living
My love of the Bus/Tram roll is on going and as we speak I am planning on making two long canvases to put above our sofa that will look like a Bus roll but have a personal meaning to the destinations like where we met, Married, live etc. I love this image above of the bus roll alongside the black framed photos.
Marley & Lockyer
My love of these rolls led to the design of my first Bus Roll cover. These sold really well and there will be more on the Etsy Shoppe soon
Marley & Lockyer
My London one has sold well also.

David Met Nicole
For something truly unique, the store Davidmetnicole has these wonderful, made-to-order wing back chairs covered in either English or Australian bus rolls. I think they are amazing and how good would one of my bus roll covers look on it?
Junk Market Style
This original roll was pulled out of a bus by the owner, so it is in mint condition...lucky!
Tram Banners
There are a lot of places now selling prints and canvases of these gorgeous typographic (is that the word?) masterpieces. Some are hideously expensive and others are very reasonable. It pays to do your homework.

via The Lettered cottage
Now I know this is not a bus or ram roll, but it has the same qualities....I just love this sign and thought I would show that even if your home is small, you could still have a piece of roll magic on your wall...even if it is an old ad! It is the whole white text on black thing that has everyone smitten I think...well I am!
1st Dibs
...but after all is said and done and I have made my own version of this new classic, I would really like a real one under glass.
